Obituary of Clifford "Cliff" McGrath

(Retired – Ontario Hydro)

(Valued Associate – Pilon Family Funeral Home, 1996-2006)

With heavy hearts we announce that Cliff passed away suddenly, but peacefully at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital on Monday morning, September 23, 2024. He was 91.

Beloved husband of the late Joan (nee Anderson).

Proud and cherished Dad of Catherine Rewhorn (Ian) of Scotland, Michael McGrath (Pamela) of Braeside, Lori Carkner (John), Tim McGrath (Ann) and John McGrath (Cathy), all of Arnprior.

Cliff will be greatly missed by his 12 grandchildren: Christopher (Sarah), Matthew (Tilly), Margaret (Scott), Allison (Crawford), Sam (Laura), Niall (Jenny), Andrew (Adam), Jeremy, Michael, Patrick (Alyssa), Curtis (Jessica) and Megan (Chris) and 13 great grandchildren: Pippa, Seth, Hugo, Lyla, Clemmie, Jack, Rorey, Paisley, Audrey, Oaklyn, Austin, Isla and Adeleine.

Dear brother of Gladys Glofcheskie (Mike) and Maureen Neumann (Eddie) and special brother-in-law of Isabel Anderson.

Cliff was predeceased by his sisters: Calista Clement (late Pete, late Lloyd), Muriel Snyder (late John) and Patsy Daly (late Ray) and brothers: Des (Sharon, late Alice) and infant Reggie.

Cliff had the ability to make you smile on any given day; usually when you needed it most. You never left his presence without hearing a great story or two. He was a founding member of the Arnprior Packers Competitive Hockey Program and dedicated countless hours to make sure Arnprior youth had a chance to play.

More than anything, Cliff loved his family. Nothing brought a glow to his eyes and a proud smile to his face more than talking about his grandkids and great grandkids.

Reunited on a front porch somewhere with Joan, Cliff will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who had the opportunity to have a chat with him over the years.

Cliff’s care and arrangements have been entrusted to the

Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior
