Dear Brenda and family,
Mr Stewart was one of my favorite people..I enjoyed all the teasing and chats we've had over the years unfortunately at the hospital. I am sending you love and strength at this time. Please know he was one of the good ones xoxo

I have many fond memories of Barry whose easy sense of humor was always very active. I taught intermediate school with him and always enjoyed talking with him - a very kind and considerate person. He always emailed me a supply of jokes which were well chosen and highly entertaining. A true gentleman - he will be sorely missed by many. We will miss him at our monthly get togethers.

I was saddened to hear of Barrie’s passing. Barrie was one of my mentors when I first started teaching at Greenbank Middle School. We socialized on Fridays and travelled together as well. Barrie drove the cleanest damn car inside and out. Although I have not seen Barrie in the past number of years, I have always considered him a dear friend. Rest in peace.

Very sad news. I had the pleasure of teaching with Barrie at two different schools. I have lots of great memories of him from both inside and outside of school...oh the stories we could tell! He will be missed by many, including our entire family.

Mr. Stewart was my teacher for Grade 4 and 5 in Fitzroy, though of him often over the years as he was one of the best teachers I had growing up. So many great memories of how we made school fun and all the things I learned in his class. My condolences to the family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Barrie was a wonderful, kind hearted man and a great neighbor. We shared many visits together over the years and Bob will especially miss their talks. His suffering is finally over and he is now with God free of pain and worries. Rest in peace Barrie. We will miss you.

I offer my condolences, I'll always remember his laughter when he and Austin would spend some time discussing all the world's issues and toasting it with their favorite beverage. We will miss Barrie immensely, rest in peace.
Love, Allen

I worked with Barrie at Greenbank Middle School in Nepean and had the pleasure of watching him work with students who came to not only respect him but admire what he stood for as someone to respect. My fondest memory of Barrie concerns an interview he had with one parent. This individual arrived, set to take on the world and used a number of expletives in the first minute or two of the interview. Barrie sat quietly until the man had finished and then calmly said… ‘Sir, that is the first time ever that I have heard someone use their entire vocabulary in one sentence.’ From that point on, Barrie owned the interview.
