Dave was born and raised on the family farm on Duncan SideRoad, Pakenham.
He married Dorothy and together they raised their family on the same farm. A dairy farmer at heart, Dave excelled in every aspect of rural life.
Raising, training and showing his beautiful Percherons was a passion that Dave took part in until he no longer was able to.
Following retirement from the farm he and Dorothy played a key role in the lives of their large and diverse family. Always supportive of the grandkids and their families, Dave and Dorothy also took great pride in their community by participating in the many social events that happened. Dave and Dorothy could often be found attending area dances, dinners, card parties and anything else that involved community. Dave was known far and wide for his talents as a “caller” at square dances. He also enjoyed the camaraderie and time spent with the guys at the Pine Ridge Hunt Camp every Fall.
He leaves a legacy of love, kindness and wisdom that will live on in those who had the honour and privilege to call him friend.
