I watched Bessie play many ball games on the same team as my mother and also against my sister later in her playing days. First my heartfelt condolences to Linda, Karen and Scott and their families on the passing of their dear mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. xoxo And 'Great' she was. So many memories of a fun and respected friendship of Bessie and the gang on the diamonds. A friendship, for me, that started in the 70's and extended right through until our paths, in life, took different directions. But those days of Bessie pitching and captaining many a team to victory or near victories, are memories that will stay with me until we meet again. Now made even more special when I see that she was 12, 15 and in some cases 20 years older than her teammates - I always thought we were closer in age - Remarkable! The way she fired and directed the underarm pitch, let alone being a steady batter, makes it even more special to think of her age at the time compared to mine. A respected and fun lady on and off the field. Oh the stories we could tell when the game was over! Where ever a loved soul has been so lives on, forever, a lifetime of loving and comforting memories. RIP Bessie xo
