Obituary of Art LeBlanc

With sadness, the family announces that Art passed away peacefully at The Grove Nursing Home in Arnprior with loved ones by his side on Wednesday morning, March 27, 2024. Prudent Arthur LeBlanc of Arnprior was 85.

Beloved and devoted husband of Jeannine (nee Benoit).

Dearly loved Dad of John (Lucia), Kenneth (Nicole Desabrais) and Tania MacAulay (David).

Proud Poppa of 3 grandchildren: Alexander LeBlanc (Catherine Serhal), Ryan Naismith (Madi) and Jessica Naismith (Braden Gilchrist) and one great-granddaughter, Grace Naismith.

Art was the youngest of 13 born to the late Joseph and Margaret (nee Sampson) LeBlanc and is survived by his brother, Charles and sisters: Shirley Power (late Brian) and Rose McCormick (late Roy).

Predeceased by brothers: Lawrence, Martin, Harold, Aimable, Joseph and sisters: Helen, Edwina, Tilly and Mary. Lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends.

Art was born in Poirierville, Cape Breton on April 4, 1938. He attended primary school there, going on to finish his high school in Halifax. He was introduced to Jeannine on a blind date and they would marry in 1964. They left the East Coast, and their first stop was Montreal, where they spent a couple years before finding their way to Arnprior. Together they built their home and raised their family in this place he was always proud to call home.

Although his work at Boeing was an integral part of his life, Art also took great pride and satisfaction in his family, community and his Church. A devout Catholic, Art played a very active role in the many facets of Parish life. From being an usher, choir member and Eucharistic Minister, Art was always happy to spend time and get to know newcomers. He was friendly, chatty and always interested in what others had to say. He will be missed.

Art’s final care and arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior where visitation will be held on Thursday evening, April 4^th from 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Friday morning, April 5^th from 9:30 to 10:30. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in his beloved St. John Chrysostom Church, Arnprior on Friday morning at 11 o’clock.
