Obituary of Henry Aumont

(Founder A&O Auto Parts, Arnprior) With great sadness the family of Henry Aumont announces that he passed away on Friday November 5, 2021. Henry was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Norah Shields (2013) and his sister Carmen Breton. He was born in Val Gagné, Ontario to Emerilda Deslauriers and Wilfrid Aumont on July 20th, 1928. Henry was an entrepreneur who established Arnprior and Ottawa Auto Parts (A & O) in 1967; a thriving local family business with many loyal and dedicated employees that continues to operate to this day. Henry and Norah raised four children: Lynne (Michael) Haramis, Alan (Susan) Aumont, Alvan (Ruth) Aumont and Michelle (Herb) Kelly. Grandfather of Adam (Jelibeth) Haramis, Jeremy Haramis, Peter (Bingjie) Haramis, Amy (Reid) Van Brabant, Matthew (Melanie) Aumont, Nicholas Aumont (Lisa Munro), Allison (Jeffrey) Reynolds, Katie (Jonathan) Kelly, Chrissy Kelly, Christopher (Sarah) Scott, and Brandon Scott. Great-grandfather of Jelianna, Philip, Beatrice, and Thomas Haramis; Amelia and Luke Van Brabant; Henry and Edward Aumont; Jackson and Lily Aumont; Emma and Ethan Reynolds; Ian Stevenson; James and Addyson Scott. Henry will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a devoted husband and father and loving grandfather. Henry and Norah enjoyed travelling; spending winters in Florida; visiting with family and friends at their cottage and home, and playing cards with friends. Henry enjoyed classic cars and playing golf with his buddies at Sand Point. He seldom missed Sunday Mass and always enjoyed Father Ryan’s sermons. Most of all he cherished all his grandchildren and family get togethers over the years. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Orchard View by the Mississippi for their excellent care. Also, a special thank you to Henry’s longtime caregiver Charlene Scott. Henry’s final care has been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior. Relatives and friends are invited to join us for a Funeral Liturgy to be webcast live from the Pilon Family Chapel on Wednesday morning, November 10th at 11 o’clock. Private interment will follow at the Malloch Road Cemetery. Never a dull moment, aged P. In memory of Henry, please consider a donation to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation.
