It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Coreen Lois Sullivan (née Bell), who peacefully left us at the age of 96 on August 12, 2024, at the Arnprior District Hospital. Coreen was a devoted registered nurse, having graduated from the Salvation Army Grace Hospital, Ottawa School of Nursing, where she began a compassionate career in healthcare. She met her late husband Thomas (Tommy) while nursing at the Arnprior District Hospital and were married for 55 years.

Cherished grandmother to Courtney (Dillon), Brittany (Carter), Ryley (Nicolla); Sean, Laura (Brad); Jamie (Dave), Andrea (Olando), Avery (Cait); Ashlynn (Nick), Bria (Brad); Andrew (Lindsay), Tait (Jaimie), Cole (Alexa) and great grandmother of Lawson, Camden, Penelope, Adley, Rowan, Maren, Sutton, Jovi, Brooks, and Holland. Dearest friend of Dr Cathy Greenough; Jordan, Devon, and Seamus. Cherished friend to her devoted caregiver Debbie (Todd) Collins and Fr Robert Ryan.
Sister to late Vivian (Harry), Brenda (late Herman), Richard, late Tommy (Claire), and Billy.
Coreen loved her dogs; Piper and Genny.
Coreen’s greatest joy in life was her family. On Saturday, after a struggling with illness, she was surrounded by all her children and grandchildren within hours. Together, they shared stories and laughter, a testament to the love and warmth that defined her life.
Coreen had a love for knitting, reading the newspaper, and spending quiet moments doing word searches. She was a woman of remarkable patience and creativity, and her legacy lives on through the embroidered tablecloths she lovingly crafted for each of her grandchildren. Every grandchild and great-grandchild knew they were cherished, as Coreen had a special way of making each one feel like they were her favorite.
Coreen was a devout Catholic, never missing a day of prayer. She prayed fervently for the sick, for friends and family who had passed, and for her loved ones to return to their faith. In her humility, she never prayed for herself, always placing others before her own needs.
Coreen’s unwavering faith, boundless love for her family, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed. Her legacy of care, devotion, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
